Infinity Music Hall and Bistro

Hi Everybody, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. I know it's been quite a while since I've blogged but truly I have been very bizzy, though I realize that's no excuse and will endeavor to do better from here on in! So I thought I'd tell you a little about the absolutely gorgeous place where I've been going to Open Mics; Infinity Music Hall and Bistro located in the charming town of Norfolk, Ct. located in the NW corner of the state.

Infinity Hall was built in 1883 and if you just happen to be driving through, it's the large green building in the middle of 'town'. Though recently renovated, Infinity Hall still has the grace and charm of bygone days. Downstairs the bistro (which is where the open mic is held) has such a warm luster as it is primarily wood with huge windows including those overlooking the outside patio. The walls are adorned with photo's of famous acts who have had the pleasure of performing at Infinity as well as local artists artwork. Upstairs is the Concert hall which still features the original proscenium stage, wood and many other lovely details.

While in Norfolk you feel like you've stepped back a couple of centuries into "Old New England" and you can't imagine that anybody would actually find the place, but the truth is Infinity Hall hosts National Acts 2 or 3 times every week and in reality just isn't that far from Poughkeepsie, NY, Great Barrington, Ma. And Hartford, Ct.

Most Wednesday nights they host an Open Mic in the Bistro and the entertainment is terrific! The food is good, the waitstaff genuinely warm and friendly. If you're in the area and or just happen to be free, I would definitely make it a point to stop into Infinity Music Hall and Bistro, have dinner and watch a show - be it supporting local musicians at the open mic or attending one of the wonderful concerts they have upstairs in the Concert Hall!

Hope to see you there, Best - Nancy
