What About Main Street?

"What About Main Street" got a standing ovation at the Guthrie Center and I’ve been blown away by how many people have told me that this song has touched them deeply. It's a hard look at what is (and has been) happening for a very long time in this country. This song also could be used in several genres. -N.

The TV Anchor stated with glee
For the first time in history
Wall Streets surpassed 13
They were toasting to prosperity
And guys were buying lots of rounds
There was dancing in the city streets
And people celebrating all around
But what about Main Street?

Note From God

The feedback some pretty big named songwriters gave Note From God is "This song is GOLD. Girl you are GOLDEN! Get it out there!" And "This song could replace 'Whatever'" and "If I heard this driving down the road on the radio, I'd lean over and TURN IT UP. It's FABULOUS!" and "This song BLEW ME AWAY!!!"

CHORUS:
Unless you’ve got a note from God
I don’t want to talk to you
Unless you’ve got a note from God
I don’t want to talk to you

Vs.
The things that I witnessed
That you didn’t know
Are all telling me
that it’s time to go
So unless you’ve got a note from God

Annabel's Heart

I wrote “Annabel's Heart” as a fundraiser for a local girl –Annabel- born with a defective heart. I wrote this because I am grateful for my own healthy children and “There but for the Grace of God go I”. This song has brought MANY people to tears and is responsible for invitations to write 2 theme songs for TV pilots. And even though I wrote it, it gives me goose bumps every time I sing it. - N.

She was a 7lb. 6 sweet bundle of bliss
As her Mom and Dad leaned over
And gave her her first kiss
The Dr. came in looking grave and said
There’s something wrong

Wild Women Don't Get the Blues

“Wild Women Don't Get The Blues” has been dubbed "THE Chicks Anthem". This song moves woman from all walks of life -preps to biker chicks- it’s one they LOVE and can identify with! In fact many women have said to me that "...This is exactly what I aspire to!!!” ‘WWDGTB’s’ is a genuine blend of folky/country/blues! FTR, my ex bass and lead guitar player (both guys) LOVE this song -it's not just for women! -N.

Chorus:
Now wild woman don’t get the blues
Do what they want to, love who they choose
They might go places, you’ve never been
They don’t give a damn what you think of them

Give Me Wings

"Give Me Wings" has a blusie feel and though she wants her wings, it’s not to leave him but rather to streeeetch and then fly back to him! This song is great fun to sing! -N.

Give me wings
And let me fly
Let me see
how far I go
Change is never easy
Ah yeah, this I know
give me wings so I can fly
right back to you

Give me wings
And let me soar
There’s a fire
I just can’t ignore
It's time to stop denying
The nature of my core
So give me wings that I can soar
Right back to you

Give me wings
And let me glide
Ride the current up thru the sky

What Do Ya Do?

This is a solid, country/pop tune. The kids work with in the Children's Peace Project, LOVE THIS SONG! It's got a really strong melody, hook and message (I'm good for that).. Good for male or female voice. I can hear Jennifer Nettles on this. -N.

When you were just a little child
They said your dreams could all come true
Just let your imagination run wild
‘Cause there’s nothin’ that you can’t do
Explore the world around you
And claim it for your own
‘Cause the world’s your oyster
And you’re its pearl
Don’t be afraid of the unknown

Vs II:
You grew up
