But Where?

This is an up tune with a pop/rock feel discussing some of the 'greener' issues in life (i.e. too much stuff, being slaves to $), again, great feel and GREAT feed back from kids and adults alike! - N.

I’m tired of this crazy thing
We call life
It’s got way out of hand
And it’s way to fast
At the rate we’re going
Ain’t nothing’s gonna last

Chorus:
I want to go where the air is clear
But where?
I want to go where the water’s sweet
But where?
I want to go where the dirt is clean
Where things are as they seem
Where I can live my simple dreams
But where?
I wantta go

I Need You With Me

"I Need You With Me" is a solid country song with traces of Southern Rock in its soul. It is simple, straightforward and unlike much of the country/pop songs of today. The character portrayed in this song is that of the tough as nails, capable, tender hearted loner - the kind of man women romanticize and fantasize about. This would be perfect for anyone who would like a country tune that stands out from today’s crowd! -N.

Chorus:
Like a cowboy, needs an open range
Like a sailor, needs a sea
Like a dessert needs the rain to fall
To bloom so beautifully

Why Can't You See

Why Can't You See?" is a good old fashioned heartbreak ballad and the issues surrounding a relationship when a man’s man doesn’t know how to live in such a changed world.. -N.

Chorus:
Why Can’t you see
I gave you
All of me
At times I’ve been down on my knees
Praying for your love

Why can’t you see
You could have had
all of me
I guess it’s finally time
For me to let go

Vs.
All of those years
You owned my love
But all you wanted
Was control
I tried to please you
Give you what you needed
I even offered
My heart and my soul

I gave you myself

Mother's Prayer

I was asked to write a peace song for a peace project and this was one of the 3 I delivered in a week. Sung from the perspectives of several mothers in different stages of parenthood. -N.

Vs. 1:
Hear this mother’s prayer
Lord it’s a prayer for peace
Please keep my babies
Safe from harm
Protect their legs
Their face their arms
And let them grow up
To make this world a better place
And live in peace

Vs. 2:
Hear this mother’s prayer
Lord it’s a prayer for peace
My kids were told to do their part
I prayer dear Lord with all my heart
Watch over them,

Baby Ya Ain't No Good

This tune has sort of a John Hurt or Doc Watson blues feel. It's the first blues tune I ever wrote and Rory Block liked it a lot! -N.

Well you told me baby
You were here to stay
Then when I turned my
Head around
Baby you were on your way

You tell me that you love me
But that ain’t so
You’re trying to get
What you can from me baby
Then you turn and go

My friends tried to tell me
That you ain’t no good
But I wouldn’t listen to them
Now I understood

We had so many good times
You had me laughing all night long
But than ya snuck out in the mornin’ baby

Under the Moon

Under The Moon is a country/pop tune. Great for all of those who are spending way too much time away from their families just trying to keep up in this crazy world – and who isn’t these days? - N.

Vs. 1:
Lately I’ve been working lots of hours
‘Cause my boss and our bills say they need manpower
It’s kind of a drag, but you do what you’ve gotta do
I’ve barely been home or seen my wife
Stumble into bed late than turn out the light
Try and get some sleep, ‘cause 4am will be here soon

Pre-Chorus:
But tonight I’m off early and I’m coming home

Find Me Someone New

This has kind of an old time blues feel, deals with the age old male/female issue and at the same time it makes people laugh (one of my great pleasures in life!) Someone like Bonnie Raitt could have fun with this! - N.

Vs. 1
I got up this morning
With tears in my eyes
‘Cause you were out all night
And you didn’t say why
When I asked if you’d been cheatin’
Or if you’d stayed true
You turned your back on me
And (then) you withdrew

Chorus:
Women need a reason
Men just need a place
There’s a dozen other women
That you want to embrace
Ain’t gonna break my heart,

City of Angels

This is a beautiful -albeit hard- ballad could be used in many genre's. Country/rock/blues... Again a song with a message, if you choose to pay attention to it. This tune would be GREAT for a TV show or movie. This song invites someone with real depth to their voice and incredible amounts of soul. -N.

Vs. 1:
She said I’m just a little down on my luck
But don’t worry Daddy things’ll soon look up
Then three months rent came past due
So she turned to the oldest profession that she knew

When she looked at her life she always felt blue

Rockstar

"Rockstar" is a blusie/rock ballad, that tells the story of what happens to a rockstar who wants fame and fortune for fame and fortune’s sake and loses sight of what is important and real! -N.

He dreamed of being a “Rockstar”
Fans swooning at his feet
Leading a charmed highlife
And feeling so elite
It was never for the right reasons
Just for money, girls and fame
And he wonders why he’s lonely
And all he feels is pain

His life’s an illusion from the outside
Gorgeous house and pretty wife
And it looks like he’s on top of the world
That he’s really conquered this life

Ballad of Renewal

“Ballad of Renewal” though uplifting has made all kinds of people weep; from lovely 16 year-old girls to 60+ year-old men.

Ooohhhh
Let the rain fall
And wash right over me
Ooohhh let the rain fall
And cleanse my body clean
Let my spirit be untroubled
Tranquil and serene
Ooohhhh
Let the rain fall
And wash right over me

Ooohhhh
Let this fire
Burn out of control
Ooohhh let this fire
Revitalize my soul
And sow the seeds of renewal
After losing you
Ooohhh
Let this fire
Burn out of control

Ooohhhh
Let the wind blow
And sweep my fears away
