Been working steadily with producer/engineer Chris Brown on the project and we're getting ready to record a demo with my long time friend Brian Cady on keys later this week. Hey there, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. Thought I'd share what I consider some exciting news! As you may know, I am the Creative Director for Mama Bear Productions and one of my 'shopkeepers' also happens to be a Singer/Songwriter. Last year she submitted songs to a songwriting contest and some of the feedback she received wasn't all that complimentary. Earlier this year she sent me an email asking me my advice - Did I think she should enter again this year?

Morning, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. Just realized I forgot to update you regarding the Millerton Library Annex Fundraiser. Turns out it was a nice gig. Nice crowd, some really good musicians and a good time was had by all. But for me, perhaps one of the best things was that I reconnected to a very talented singer/songwriter I've known for years, a guy by the name of Chris Jones. The man has a wonderful, soulful voice, plus he's really starting to hone his songwriting chops. If this guy doesn't 'go somewhere' it'll only be of his own design!

Looks like I'm going to get some new songs up pretty soon and this time they're not just demo quality! I've been working on pre-production stuff with David Bourgeois of White Lake Music and Post in Schenectady, NY and I'm pretty excited! Looks like we're recording as many as songs and I can't wait! Hey there, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. Thought I'd let you know that I asked Trish (proprietor of P.D. Walsh) if there was a way we could do a 4th of July celebration (which is off the usual schedule). She gave it some thought then in conjunction with the newly re-opened Falls Village Inn set something up in order to celebrate! FTR, this event will be taking place Saturday, July 2nd on the green between the two establishments, so bring a lawn chair or blanket if being tickled by the grass is not your thing!

Good morning, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter checking in! As promised I'm updating you on Copake Community Day. Turns out the day was gorgeous, hot, but gorgeous. There were many vendors, things to do, to see, to buy and to eat and of course there was music! The crowd was attentive and responsive and everyone had a good time all around! If you're up this way next year -either by yourself or with your family- and feel like having a good old-fashioned fun time, I would definitely recommend stopping in and helping the town of Copake, NY celebrate itself! Hi all, Nancy Carey Johnson here. Thought I'd share with you an accidental discovery I made. His name is Kurt Nilsen, a Norwegian who is an UNBELIEVABLE singer! Holy smoke can this guy sing!!!!! Somebody had asked me about the possibilities of singing "Hallelujah" and it's been so long since I sang it (years) I went to look it up. What I discovered was what I call "The Norwegian 4" a bunch of very talented guys Kurt Nilsen, Epsen Lind, Askil Holm and Alejandro Fuentes singing Hallulejah. This is without a doubt the best version I've ever heard!

Good morning, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here! Though I know I told you this, it definitely bears repeating because it is soooooooooooo true! The music pours out of me - literally. All the time, literally. Especially when I'm outside. Something about being outside seems to free me up and I let it all pour out. It makes my family kind of crazy, for instance my husband thinks I sing (loud) because I'm scared and trying to scare things off - NOT SO! My eldest son thinks I do it just to piss him off - NOT SO! My other kids shake their heads at me and think I'm nuts - NOT SO!
