I wrote “Annabel's Heart” as a fundraiser for a local girl –Annabel- born with a defective heart. I wrote this because I am grateful for my own healthy children and “There but for the Grace of God go I”. This song has brought MANY people to tears and is responsible for invitations to write 2 theme songs for TV pilots. And even though I wrote it, it gives me goose bumps every time I sing it. - N.
She was a 7lb. 6 sweet bundle of bliss
As her Mom and Dad leaned over
And gave her her first kiss
The Dr. came in looking grave and said
There’s something wrong
Her hearts not beating as it should
And there’re tests we can’t prolong
The nurses rushed in
Bundled her, then whisked her away
As her Daddy fell down on his knees

When he finally came out and spoke with them

She’s 8 years old and she’s been through a lot

But she’s young and she’s strong and got a passion for life
And for now she’s doin’ fine
