Hi, Nancy Carey Johnson singer/songwriter here. Last December my family and I moved @35 miles south of where we'd been living. I'd heard Millerton had a good music scene but I couldn't seem to find it. Finally someone said "Gee, there are a couple of places that have open mic night (ah hem, so much for a 'Good music scene"). Rather than just going down, I called to make sure the 'places' were in fact having an open mic. As it happens, they weren't that night. Week after week I called to make sure I wasn't wasting my time only to be told that 'sorry, not this week probably next week'... Now I'm not a brain surgeon, never pretended to be, but even I can figure out that they were stringing me along.

Finally I decided to take matters into my own hands and as of this October, I am hosting a Folk Jam at the Millerton Community Center the 2nd Saturday evening of every month 7-11. FINALLY a place that people can just get together to sing, play and listen - YEA! Now, isn't that kinda cool? - Nancy
