Renewal

Good Morning, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. As I mentioned in my last blog, it was a tough winter. BUT the good news is Spring is here and it's time for renewal. More good news is that I've started recording again and things are moving forward on my Wild Women Don't Get the Blues project. Got the vocals done on my song Give Me Wings and on the romantic From the Rodeo to Rodeo Drive. Next up is Lonely Angels Weep: can't wait to get that done! Read more about Renewal »

Tough Winter!

Hey There, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. Spring has sprung - sort of. I say "Spring" but truth is, nestled here in the foothills of the Berkshires, it seems as though Mother Nature forgot to put on us her calendar. So, why am I writing? Open Mic Circuit

Hi there, Nancy Carey Johnson, Singer/Songwriter here. Like everybody else, there are times my life seems so crazy bizzy with, well, life it seems that I can't fit anything extra into my life. Add to that Mother Nature has her own plans and I haven't gotten out to many open mics (OM's) lately. Read more about Open Mic Circuit »

Beginning Vocals

"Interesting?" you might ask. Well yes. Interesting because I'd gotten another cold (rough winter) and lost my voice for a week or so and when I first tried to lay down vocal traxx, they sounded, well, kinda like a frog - as you might have guessed from someone who didn't have much of a voice. But there again, you never know what quality vocals I might have ended up with. Read more about Beginning Vocals »

Kim Hoffman - Violinist

Who knew? Certainly not me. I don't play the violin or the fiddle - and for those of you who don't know, the fiddle and the violin are the same instrument the difference is in how it is played. So why am I telling you this? Well because I hired a fiddle player, a very good fiddle player, but he's not a classically trained violinist. Read more about Kim Hoffman - Violinist »
