Catching Up

Many of you know by now that I am an, 'accidental writer', but what you may not know is about a week before I published Life is Good; Wit and Wisdom from a Vermont Homesteader (LiG), right in the middle of launch crazies, my editor called me and said, "OK, have you started your next book yet?" I almost fainted.

We'd talked about me doing a Christmas book (I LOVE Christmas) and I'd started working on it. But last year was extremely bizzy for me. Not only was I working full time, we were growing 10 acres of CBD hemp, I had a garden, was finishing up LiG, I was gigging several times a month (I'm also a singer/songwriter) on top of being a wife and mother. And so I realized I just did not have time to write and publish a book in a mere 2 months.

At that point my plan changed and I decided to get a, 'critter stories' book written and published sometime in February or March and then get my Christmas book out in time for Christmas 2020.

Except that working on hemp isn't done with harvest. There's a LOT more work to be done after everything is harvested, maybe even more than during the growing/weeding/sexing season. And so while I've been writing away, the critter book isn't finished. About 3 weeks ago I realized with a jolt that if I didn't put the critter book aside for now, there was no way I was going to get the Christmas book done and so now, I'm back to working on Christmas, in the heat of summer!

And that my friends is where I'm at, at the moment. I'm back to working on my Christmas book which will have all kinds of stories and recipes and although I'm still really bizzy, I'm really excited for it!

Be well and enjoy your day, wherever you are in the world,
