5 Ingredient Brownies - YUM!
Someone in one of the book clubs I belong to, was talking about baking and how when Covid started she was determined to really learn to bake and started gung-ho and then, after trying some recipes that were a little more complicated she decided to call it quits. That is unless a recipe calls for got '5 ingredients or less'. And so I thought I'd share my, chewy, ooey, gooey, chocolatey dense brownie recipe that it's in my upcoming Christmas/Holiday book that magically has (drum roll please) 5 ingredients with her -and you.
Chewy, Ooey, Gooey, Chocolatey Dense Brownies: 350*
3 Cups Sugar
1-1/2 Cups Flour
1-1/2 Cups Cocoa Powder, sifted
1-1/4 Cups Butter, melted (2-1/2 sticks)
6 Large Eggs, scrambled
Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them together.
Add butter first, then add the eggs to the dry ingredients & mix thoroughly.
Transfer to a greased 9x13 (or thereabouts) pan. Please note the batter will be THICK.
Put pan in a 350* oven for 5 minutes, then take it out and shake it (that helps to even the batter), then bake it for another 40 minutes.
Take out and cut immediately, then let cool. Cutting immediately lets the heat out and prevents any further baking.
These brownies are terrific, but if you can't eat them fast enough, they freeze beautifully ~and they're WONDERFUL frozen!
